Five Across

How to play

1. Tap a square to pick it. Tap it again to switch between Across and Down.
2. Type the answer with the on-screen keys or your keyboard. The clue for your square is shown under the grid.
3. Zoom in with + and −, a pinch, or Ctrl + scroll. On a keyboard, Tab jumps to the next clue.
4. Stuck? Check word marks wrong letters, and Reveal letter fills a square, for a small points penalty.

Ways to play

Tips

• Start with the short words. Three- and four-letter answers give you letters for the long ones.
• Fill in what you're sure of first, then come back to the gaps.
• Check word costs less than Reveal letter, so check first if you're unsure.
