How to play

A car waits at a broken bridge. The word it came from is on its bank, the word it's going to is on the far bank. Type one word that links both, like cake + candle → birthday.
Rounds 1 to 3 are Bridges (two words). Round 4 is a Triple bridge: three cars, three words, one island that links them all, like bee + bear + toast → honey. Round 5 is Closest: the word nearest in meaning, like lion → tiger.
One guess a round, no hints. The best link scores 500; other good links score less. A strong link builds a solid bridge, a shaky link builds a rickety one, and a bad link (40% or less) gives way: splash.
Plurals and small typos are fine. A clue word, or a word built from one, doesn't count and doesn't use your guess.

Five rounds, the same for everyone, new every midnight Eastern time. Up to 2,500 points.

Past puzzles

Replay earlier days for practice. They don't count for the leaderboard.

Tips

Say both clues out loud with a blank between them: "cake ___ candle". The link often jumps out.
Think of things the clues share: a place, a colour, a use, or a word that goes before or after both.
A word that fits only one clue scores 0 and the car goes for a swim, so make sure yours fits all of them.

Your word scored 40% or less: it fits one clue but not the others, or it isn't on the round's list of links. You'll see the best links after each round.

No. One word, one guess, and the bridge tells you how close you got.
