Long Shot
Say what nobody else will. The rarer your answer, the farther it flies.

How to play
- You get a prompt, like "Name a type of apple". You have 20 seconds to type one answer.
- Your answer is checked against what every other player said.
- Every prompt's answers are ranked from most to least common and split into five tiers: Everyday, Solid, Clever, Rare and Out of this world. Each tier is a band of 200 points and one 240 m stretch of the course, so the rarer the tier, the farther your paper plane flies. Out of this world fires the rocket.
- Five prompts a game, up to 1,000 points each (the daily is three prompts, up to 3,000). Clever-or-better flights in a row build a streak, and all five Clever or better earns the Ace bonus.
Ways to play
Daily
Three prompts, the same for everyone, new every midnight Eastern time. It's also the first round of Play The Daily.
Think different
Free play with five random prompts. Rare answers score big. Afterwards, send a friend a challenge link with the same five prompts.
Think alike
The mirror image: the tiers flip, so everyone's answer scores 805–1,000 and fires the rocket, and an answer hardly anyone gave scores 25–200.
Race online
Send a code to friends. Everyone gets the same five prompts, and the most points wins.
Tips
- The first answer that comes to mind is usually everyone's first answer. Go for your second or third.
- Close isn't a problem: a spelling slip, a short form like "Mario Kart" or initials like "LOTR" bring up "Did you mean…?". Press Enter again to use it.
- If a real answer isn't accepted, tap "Tell us it should count" and we'll add it.
Questions
How do you know how rare my answer is?
Every answer is counted, once per device, and compared with what everyone else said. While a prompt is new, the tiers are estimated from our answer lists, which are ordered by relevance: the most searched-for and best-known answers first, so the least searched-for answer scores the most.
How many prompts are there?
110 prompts with about 111,000 accepted answers from around the world: Jollibee and Mos Burger, Burna Boy and BTS, Naruto and Frieren, Pandesal, Kabaddi, Angkor Wat and much more, alongside Disney characters, NHL teams, rivers, fabrics, dog names and Shakespeare plays.
Is Long Shot free?
Yes, completely free in your browser on phone, tablet or computer. No download or account needed.
