Picture This

Nine tiles, one missing. Slide the picture back together in as few moves as you can.

How to play

A picture is cut into a 3 × 3 grid. One tile is taken out and the other eight are shuffled.
Tap a tile in line with the gap to slide it (or a whole row), swipe, or use the arrow keys.
When every tile is home, the missing piece drops in and the next picture starts.
Each picture scores 500 for solving it, up to 500 for using few moves and up to 500 for speed. Five pictures a game, up to 7,500 points.

Five pictures with the same shuffles for everyone, new every midnight Eastern time.

Solve the top row first, then the left column. The last four tiles almost solve themselves.
Hold Peek to see the whole picture for a moment.
Turn the tile numbers on if the picture is hard to read.

How are moves counted?

Every tile you slide is one move. The game works out the fewest moves possible, so you can see how close you got.

Is every puzzle solvable?

Yes. Each one is shuffled by sliding tiles from the solved picture, so it can always be put back.
