Split It

One straight cut. Get the lopsided object as close to 50 / 50 as you can.

How to play

An odd-shaped object lies on the cutting mat: a power drill, a rain boot, a rubber duck, a whale…
Drag across it to draw a straight cut. Drag an end of the line to tilt it, or the middle to slide it. The buttons and arrow keys nudge it a fraction at a time.
Press Slice. The two pieces fly apart and show their sizes, like 49.6% and 50.4%.
Within 0.2% of a perfect half scores the full 1,000 points; the further off, the fewer points, down to 0 at 20% off.

Find the heavy end first. The cut has to sit closer to it than you think.
Thin handles and spouts hold very little, so don't let them pull your line toward them.
Try a cut, then turn it a little each way. Small turns change the split more than you'd expect.

How is the split measured?

Each object is measured pixel by pixel, including holes like a mug's handle, so the percentages are exact to a tenth of a percent.

Are the objects the same for everyone?

Yes, in the daily. Each object is turned and sometimes flipped, but everyone gets the same ones in the same way.
